2015 Autumn Season 2nd
field trip was on 10th October. A
large group of Kuşkor birders took to a 50-seater coach (an experiment in group
transport for large numbers) to take a last look at Geçitköy Dam before the water from Turkey inundates the current
geography of the area and quite drastically alters the terrain. Just a few days later the sluice gates were opened. It’s going to be very interesting observing how this large aquatic resource is utilised by wildlife over the coming years and we plan to monitor its impacts.
