KUŞKOR were invited by the Ornithological Society of the Middle East (OSME) to make a presentation at their annual summer meeting on July 2nd 2016. The meeting is held annually at the headquarters of the British Trust for Ornithology in Thetford, UK.

Since 2013, KUŞKOR have received regular small grants from OSMEs conservation fund. These grant have been used to fund our projects monitoring Bonelli’s Eagles and improving habitat for European Rollers on the Mesarya Plain. The grants provided by OSME have helped to broaden KUŞKOR’s activity and the opportunity to present the results of some of our projects was warmly received. 

Other talks were given by Rob Sheldon (OSME chairman), Mark Eaton (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds), Oleg Kashkarov (Uzbekistan), Nabegh Asswad (Syria), Richard Porter (OSME), Tomas Haraldsson (Azerbaijan).

A small grant from the Anglo Turkish Association of Northern Cyprus (ATA) and OSME met the majority of the costs of Robin’s expenses.
